Apple Intelligence: what's new?
New possibilities for working with text
Apple Intelligence offers new text tools built into iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. Users can now rewrite, proofread and summarize text in almost any app, including Mail, Notes and Pages. Tools such as Rewrite, Proofread and Summarize can help improve text quality by correcting grammar, style and structure.
Mail and notifications
Mail now features Priority Messages, which highlights the most important messages at the top of the list. Smart Reply offers quick options for replying to emails, and Priority Notifications help you highlight the most important messages on the lock screen.
Working with audio
In the Notes and Phone applications, you can now record, transcribe and summarize audio. Participants are automatically notified when a call is recorded, and the system generates a summary of key points when the call is finished.
Image Playground
The system offers a new Image Playground tool for creating images in animation, illustration and sketch styles. This tool is integrated into applications such as Messages and Notes, allowing users to quickly create and share creative images.
Genmoji generation
Users can now create unique Genmoji by describing them with text. These Genmoji can be used in messages, as stickers or reactions in Tapback.
New features in Photos
Apple Intelligence improves the search for photos and videos using natural language. Clean Up removes distracting objects from the background of a photo, and Memories creates videos from photos and videos based on a given description.
Siri to the next level
Siri has become even more integrated into the system with improved language understanding and user interaction capabilities. Siri can now understand the context of queries and perform complex tasks, such as adding an address from a message to your contact book or searching for photos based on a description.
A new standard of privacy
Apple Intelligence uses Private Cloud Compute, which allows the computing load to be distributed between the device and Apple silicon-based cloud servers. This ensures a high level of privacy, as data is never stored or shared with third parties.
ChatGPT integration
Apple has integrated ChatGPT into its platforms, allowing users to access its features directly through Siri and Writing Tools. At the same time, users' requests are protected and their IP addresses are hidden.
Apple Intelligence will be available in beta in autumn 2024 and is supported on iPhone 15 Pro, iPad and Mac devices with M1 processors and newer. This innovative system promises to make using Apple products even smarter and more convenient.
