Tesla opens electric car plant in Moldova

Elon Musk's new project is aimed at strengthening the automotive industry in the region and developing environmentally friendly transport. It is planned that it will take about three years to build a plant with a capacity of 200,000 electric cars per year. Local residents will be attracted to work at the new Tesla plant in Moldova, which will increase the number of jobs with high salaries on the labour market. Time will show whether the plan is realistic.

How popular are Tesla electric cars in the world

According to the results of the automotive market analysis conducted jointly by JATO Dynamics and Car Industry Analysis, the most Tesla Model Y electric cars were sold in 2023 - 1.32 million cars worldwide. When compared to 2022 figures, sales of Tesla Model Y cars in 2023 increased by 64%. Electric car Model Y entered the TOP-1 of the most popular cars in the European Union and the PRC. Only in China they were sold about half a million.

By the way, the second place in the "World's Best Selling Cars" ranking was taken by the Toyota RAV4 SUV - 1.07 million people bought this model in 2023. Another Japanese car brand, which has held the palm of superiority for 23 years in a row - Toyota Corolla with 1.01 million cars - entered the top 3 in sales.

A few interesting facts about Tesla Motors that you should know

Like any other large company with a global reputation, Tesla Motors has fun facts you might not have known about:

  1. Elon Musk is not the creator of Tesla Motors. The idea belongs to Martin Eberhard, a very talented engineer who dreamed of creating an economical car, but did not have the necessary capital to realise the startup. And then Martin offered to invest in the project to Elon, who was just in search of where to invest the money from the sale of PayPal.
  2. Tesla Motors' first electric car is a plagiarism. In order not to bother with the concept and design for a long time, they took the carburetted Lotus Elise as a basis and made an electric car out of it, which was named Tesla Roadster. The car turned out to be really good: acceleration to a hundred in 4 seconds, top speed - 210 km/hour, range of 400 km.
  3. Tesla Motors is not hiding its developments. This is due to the fact that the concern is interested in the development of electric cars and is not against healthy competition. Interestingly, the functions of the electric car can be expanded at any time by simply updating the system, just like on the iPhone.

Do you have a desire to work for Tesla Motors? Then we are looking forward to official information from the Moldovan authorities.

P.S. The article is of a humorous nature. Happy 1st of April!
